Septembrefest starts Tuesday - wear appropriate clothing that can smell like food (grillers especially).  So READ (with updated protocol in green, warnings in red) - POSTING MATERIAL BELOW...

For periods 1, 3, and 5 = you're either working a WHOLE (~60 mins) or a HALF (~30 mins).  You'll be reporting to Olivia Abe as you go through the week.

1st period - Veggie hour

This is the food prep time, & we need to:

  • Make two Crock Pots of broth (set on high) - you'll be using the broth powder in the Litter Box

  • Slice tomatoes/onions on platters; tear lettuce heads into MANAGEABLE pieces

  • Get ice from kitchen, Sports Med, or concession stand by gym

  • Get a jump on dishes and general cleanup in the Alley

  • If everything is done early, get a jump on the SET-UP below

3rd period = SET-UP

All of the following needs to be done:

Outside =

  • Setting up all tables outside/inside

  • Extension cords found and brought out for power needs.  Need power for i/c freezer and the crock pot table

  • All canopies set up

  • Handwashing station (old blue cooler, fill with hot water, find hand soap, put on table)

  • Grills set up

  • DJ table set up and running

  • Acrylic BBQ signs (I'll have those ready; they just need to go out)

  • Ipad, cash drawer and cash envelopes out last and ALWAYS supervised

Inside =

  • Thermometers for the grill MUST be out

  • Get ice for coolers from kitchen or sports med

  • Take ice cream out

4th is Game time = We will be serving during WIN (~15 minutes before lunch for staff ), so the line needs to be open by 10:50 or so.  We should have many burgers cooking by at least 10:20.

List of jobs to fill during BBQ (for posting purposes):

  • Cash box/buns/plates - 2 to 3 OBSERVANT people who'll work together  BUNS DRIVE THE SALE.  DO NOT ALLOW KIDS TO DO THEIR OWN BUNS and NEVER LEAVE THE CASH BOX/MONEY ENVELOPE(S)

  • Soda distributor - 1 or 2 students that need to monitor (and not just sit there and look at phones)

  • (new) Veggie slingers - 3-5 gloved students willing to talk with customers

  • Griller(s) - 1 to 2 people with a BIG job

  • "Cheeser" - Cheese needs to be arranged for quickness

  • Ice Cream - 2 people per treat (one on $, one serving up)

  • Gophers - A couple standby workers who can help restock from Alley, etc...

  • DJ - No more than two playing appropo music throughout.  WILL NOT be the same two people all week AND one non-ASB kid even remotely behind the table will result in a ZERO for you both during the entire BBQ week.  I know your friend would "never do anything bad", but we've discussed this many times.... NO.

5th period =  CLEANUP

We will begin breaking down everything just before 2nd lunch ends.  When the lunch bell rings and kids start going to 4th, that's when we need to start counting people who are still in line and tracking how many burgers we need to cook and serve.
